“Hello” Yul Brynner – Born 11 July 1920

Yul Brynner (Yuliy Borisovich Briner; July 11, 1920 – October 10, 1985) was a Russian-born United States-based actor. He was best known for his portrayal of the King of Siam in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The King and I, as Rameses II in the 1956 Cecil B. DeMille blockbuster The Ten Commandments and Chris Adams in The Magnificent Seven. He was noted for his distinctive voice and for his shaved head. Although he shaved his head for his role in The King and I, he retained the bald look and it subsequently became his trademark.
