“Goodbye” David Garrick – Died 20 January 1779
David Garrick (19 February 1717 – 20 January 1779) was an English actor, playwright, theatre manager and producer who had a profound influence on the theatre in the 18th century. He was also a pupil and friend of Dr Samuel Johnson.
At his death, he was given a public funeral at Westminster Abbey where he was laid in Poets’ Corner.
